Bias in the Waterbury Observer

The Waterbury Observer published a highly biased, error-filled anti-Israel commentary by Marilyn Aligata in its September, 2006 issue. A response by PRIMER President Alan Stein led to a repeat from Aligata in the November, 2006 issue.

Aligata's diatribe was refuted, point-by-point, in a PRIMER Comment & Analysis, which was published in part by the Observer and is available in unabridged form on the PRIMER web site.

In frustration, both Aligata and George Hajjar lashed out with ad hominem attacks, which were irresponsibly published by the Observer in February, 2007. Their attacks were supported by another hate-filled letter published in the March, 2007 which in the height of chutzpah accused respected attorney and human rights advocate Alan Dershowitz of fraud and plagiarism.

The series, including intelligent, well-reasoned letters by some pro-Israel writers, is included here.
